Self-installation
Although this device is not an RNS factory radio, this car radio has been specially designed by Cartronix for various Volkswagen, Skoda, and Seat car models. It is the perfect replacement for the car radio installed as standard at the factory. Installing the Cartronix CTX-118935 is simple. For most users, it is a matter of plug-and-play.

If you have a Volkswagen, Seat, or Skoda built before 2011, extra steps are required during installation to prevent the car radio from draining your battery. If you have a car built from 2011 onwards, the installation is plug-and-play.

Extra cable required for cars from model year 2014: CTX-3401
For cars from the 2014 model year, an extra cable is required when installing this car radio, namely the MIB plug. This plug is necessary to ensure compatibility with the car's original functions. The MIB plug ensures that the new car radio can communicate correctly with the modern systems of these vehicles, including the steering wheel controls and other integrated features. Therefore, check at the time of purchase whether your car falls into this category and ensure that you have the correct cable for a seamless installation.

Original accessories and options
If your car has a reversing camera originally supplied by the dealer, please note that it cannot be connected via plug-and-play. To connect the camera, you need an adapter plug that connects the original camera to an RCA plug. If your car has a CD changer, you will no longer be able to use it after removing the original radio. It is therefore advisable to remove the CDs from the changer before removing the radio.
